What made me want to put myself out there ("on blast") so everybody knows I need to get into shape? Well,I woke up one morning and I discovered I had contracted "Done Lapped Disease" a severe case of it. The following are 10 symptoms that made me sure I had gotten it: 1. In order to tie my shoes I almost had to become a contortionist! 2. I had to make an extra big knot in my tie to hide the fact that the top buttons could not close 3. When I tried to fasten my slacks the button says to the clasp " Hey have not seen you in awhile we should get together sometime" 4. When I was sitting on the bed I looked at the side view in the mirror and said to the guy looking back at me "How did you get into my bedroom"?! 5. When I put on my sweater I looked like an advertisment for "Male Pregnancy" 6. When I look down my floor was covered with stomach! 7. The pleats in my slacks make my me look like I was wearing flat fronts 8. I get winded going from the bedroonm to the bathroom Well I could not come up with 10 symptoms but you all get my point - something had to be done and starting now. Fortunately my great neigbors told me about the twins and their great boot camp program. I went one day and I was hooked. So now that I have the right support behind me over the next six months I am going to share my experience of getting back into healthy shape with you all. It's okay if you laugh the way I will share my story is meant to be funny. The serious part will be the work and the dedication I will have to put into this in order to be successful and achieve my goals. If I can be successful in this and maybe inspire some more people to take stock in their own health (of course working with MirrorImage Fitness)- then all of this will have been more than worth it. So come along with me on this ride-BTW If you see me at the fast food place eating a whooper you have permission to snatch it right from my mouth! G

That's my main man and neighbor Gregg! As soon as he showed up outside my house at 5:30AM, Day 1, I knew he would be hooked by the Fitness Twins' no-nonsense exercise routines. Gregg, my wife and I consider ourselves really lucky to have discovered Mirror Image Fitness!

Hey Gregg, we missed you at bootcamp this morning! What happened? You should make sure to do at least 45 minutes of cardiovascular exercise today. And....those pushups and dips.

Hi Charmaine: This morning my body basically locked up on me. I was so sore I could not move. But don't worry boss lady - I am going to the gym tonight to do some cardio and I will be at boot camp - and back on the case tomorrow. I think I need to add a yoga program to this that focuses on serious stretching. That will hopefully that will help loosen me up some more. See you in the morning.

Today's program was GREAT! I really feel good-my body is not so sore and I will difinitley get the E-Salt. Hey Ricky-Ryan and Darren - I understand that the men before us could not hang for the long term with these ladies. We three are going to chnage that and I know with you guys we can do it! BTW Tommorow I am bringing in my own whistle and time clock I think the twins forget how long a real minute is sometimes -LOL

Last week I made 4 out of 5 days to boot camp. In addition I worked out at the gym. I got the pictures to back me up! I realize now that this experience is a Journey not a quick sprint. I found the pair of jeans that will be my bench mark of progress. Remember I talked about the pants where the button said to the clasp "Hey have not seen you in a while-we should get together sometime" Yeah those jeans. When I first tried them on the button and the clasp were like total strangers to each other. Hopefully after I keep working hard the next stage is that they will become distant cousins - then one day the button and the clasp will be "the best of friends. That something to work towards. Now my whole family knows about this so here I am exposed-Its all good!

This morning's bootcamp was tough! Now the Twins are talking about talking me out to the track and I don't mean the race track - they want me to go up and down the stadium steps! I am having nightmares just thinking about being with those two fitness queens in an open area with no time limit! But I am a tought guy (I think) so we will see. Anyway I also wnat to give a shout out to all by fellow boot campers you all help me get through each morning and thanks for the encouragement! Hey Ricky where are you? You owe me three days and counting!

The other day I was talking about the fellas in my bootcamp class and I forgot to mention - in addition to Ryan - Ricky and Darren - I forgot to mention my boy Cheeky! Sorry bro you are part of the guy group and you also help inspire me to keep it going! Plus you are a big guy like me! So far I havent actually seen much change but I sure do feel better already! I am waking up at 5 am without a alarm clock - also this morning I was able to tie my shoes without feeling like an contortionist! Hey progress starts on the inside and works its way on to the outside!

Hey Gregg! Keep up the good work...the waking up at 5:00 am for a 5:45 am bootcamp is no JOKE! but thank God for the twins who encourage us and keep us motivated to get it right get it tight! I'm gonna tell Chee how to get to you on the blog... p.s. we gotta do something about those "dips" and "chips" as Ricky puts it :) see you thursday! bright and early!

Thanks Jenny-We got daylight savings time coming up so it will be brighter earlier and that should help alot. As far as those "dips and chips" I am going to try Cheeky's idea about using the bathtub and practice them at home. All in all we all should feel good about the effort we are putting in. We all should feel proud that we made it to camp this morning. If ever there was a day to miss training this morning would have been that day. To those who missed training that is okay we covered for you-You can cover for us another day. Ricky I did 4 extra dips dedicated just for you. Unfortunately I did not have the chips to go with those chips!

Okay it is time to step up the intensity: Today marks the beginning of my 4th week of boot camp. I can feel the influence of the twins training in EVERY part of my body! But it is good pain (there is such a thing as good pain right?) Anyway, I wanted to use this opportunity to publicly reaffirm my commitment working with the Twins for six months - actually five more-and to reach the goals I set with them when we started. While I make many jokes about the training and the process - this health thing is a very serious matter. I actually know more people who are overweight -have high blood pressure-diabetis and other weight related problems than I know people who do not have these issues. God willing-I plan on being an example especially for more mature black men that we do not have to retire to the "sofa" - hang up our Nikes (or for some real old timers- hang up their Chuck Taylors-me personally I was in the Nike era-but I know about Chuck Taylors-lol) and call it a day. I have set out on this mission in the past and have fell short. For some reason I feel THIS time is going to be a home run. Of course I have to give a shout out to all my fellow bootcampers I have met over the last month. You all have been very supportive and encouraging to me and I appreciate that so much - I hope to inspire you all as well. As far as the training program - in addition to starting the next boot camp session -starting tonight I am going to step up my Cardio - Yeah ZUMBA people look out -"Heavy G" is coming to class. Peace Everybody.
